Arrow Films has announced the dual format release of Buddy Cooper’s grisly slasher The Mutilator on the 15th February.
Originally released under the title Fall Break, at the tail end of the slasher heyday in the late eighties, the film follows Ed who goes to his family’s beach condo at the behest of his father.
Using it as an excuse for an alcohol-fuelled weekend with his friends, Ed finds himself stalked by a figure with an axe (or a hook, or an outboard motor, depending on the situation).
Arrow’s release marks the first time this film has been remastered into high definition, bringing legendary FX artist Mark Shostrom’s gory deathscenes to a new generation. the release features a host of extras including a feature length documentary about the film, and new commentaries from Buddy Cooper, co-director John Douglass and stars Matt Mitler and Ruth Martinez Tutterow.
