“One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.” – Malala
Fox Searchlight Pictures have released the second trailer for Davis Guggenheim’s (An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman) new documentary He Named Me Malala.
Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai was fifteen years old when the Taliban severely wounded her by a gunshot when she was returning home on her school bus. She, and her father, were singled out for advocating for girls’ education and the attack sparked international outrage.
Having miraculously survived, Malala is now a leading campaigner for girls’ education globally as co-founder of the Malala Fund. In his new film Davis Guggenheim shows the commitment her and her father Zia have for fighting for girls’ education worldwide; offering an inside glimpse to her relationship with her father, who inspired her love for education, to her speeches at the UN and her everyday life with her family.
He Named Me Malala will be released in UK cinemas on November 6th.
